Is the Galactic Planner an app?

Yes. The Galactic Planner is now a dedicated mobile and web app. After you sign up, download it from the App Store or Google Play, or open it directly in your browser (on mobile or desktop). All your personalized dates, transits, and insights live inside the app. You can also export any reading as a PDF from the web version and send it to your email.

I'm already a Galactic Planner member. Do I get the new app?

Yes. If you're a current member, you'll get the new personalized plan of the app at no extra cost. Your existing access carries over, and your calendar becomes fully personalized to your own birth chart. You just need to download the app and log in with the same login you originally signed up with.

How do I get started after signing up?

  • Create your account at galacticplanner.com or in the app.
  • Choose your plan.
  • Enter your birth date, precise time, and precise location.
  • Your personalized calendar populates right away. Start exploring your transits.

What devices does the app work on?

The app is available on iOS, Android, and the web. Your account syncs across devices, so anything you view or save on your phone is also there on your laptop/desktop.

Do I need to know astrology to use the app?

No. You don't need any background in astrology to benefit from the app. Every transit and prediction is explained in simple, everyday language instead of technical jargon. The goal is to help you understand what a planetary influence may mean for your life without studying astrology first. If you're already familiar with astrology, you can also explore the more advanced chart details and planetary information in the app.

Can anyone use the Galactic Planner?

Yes. Anyone in the world can use the app to access their personalized calendar. If you can install the app or open it in a browser, you're set.

AI Enhanced usage is subject to throttling limits.

What's the difference between monthly and yearly billing?

Both bill the same plan, just on a different cycle. Yearly billing saves you about 35% compared to paying month to month, and it unlocks the yearly view so you can see and plan your whole year ahead. Your calendar refreshes automatically either way.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. You get a 7-day free trial of the AI Enhanced version, our most advanced and personalized plan. During the trial you get the full experience, with AI chat usage limited during the trial. When the trial ends, your AI Enhanced paid plan begins and you're charged automatically unless you cancel first.

Will I be charged automatically when the trial ends?

Yes, unless you cancel before the trial period ends.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Once you cancel, your subscription won't renew on the next billing date, and you keep access until the end of your current billing period.

How do I cancel?

A few options:

  • In the app: Profile → Subscription → Cancel Subscription.
  • On the web: log in at galacticplanner.com and manage it from your account page.
  • Email hello@galacticplanner.com and we'll cancel it for you.

You'll also get an email reminder 5 days before each renewal with a link to manage your subscription.

Can I buy this as a gift?

Not yet. Gift purchases aren't available right now, but it's on our list.

Do you offer refunds?

All sales are final. Because your purchase gives you immediate access to all future dates, monthly or yearly depending on your plan, and because each chart and analysis is custom-built (work we incur the moment you subscribe), we're unable to offer refunds. We do offer a 7-day free trial, though, so you can explore everything risk-free before committing. Happy to set that up for you if you're interested!

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all payment methods supported by the App Store and Google Play.

Do you offer student, hardship, or promotional discounts?

Not at the moment.

Birth info and chart accuracy (6) 

I entered the wrong birth info. What now?

Email hello@galacticplanner.com with your correct birth date, time, and location, and our support team will update it for you.

I don't know my birth time. What should I do?

Birth time is one of the most important details for an accurate chart, ideally within a 15-minute window of when you were born. If you don't know it, try:

  • Checking your long-form birth certificate, which often lists the time.
  • Calling the hospital where you were born.
  • Contacting the county vital records office where you were born. Provide your full name and date of birth, and in some cases your parents' names.

Many people recover their birth time this way, even years later. Tip: when you request a birth certificate, ask for the original long-form version, since standard copies usually leave the time off. If you still can't find it, enter 12:00 noon as a placeholder and update it later.

Is the app still useful if I don't know my birth time?

Yes. Without an exact birth time, the positions of the planets and many important transits can still be calculated accurately. The parts that depend on your exact time are your houses and rising sign, so predictions tied to specific life areas may be less precise. You'll still receive valuable insights, and your chart becomes even more accurate once your birth time is updated.

Does my name affect my chart?

No. Your chart is calculated only from your birth date, time, and location. To correct your name, email hello@galacticplanner.com. (In-app name editing isn't available yet.)

Why does my chart look different from charts I've seen elsewhere?

We've spent thousands of hours verifying our calculations. A few differences usually explain it:

  • We use the Vedic sidereal system, not the Western tropical system. Sidereal placements sit about 24 degrees earlier in the zodiac because they reflect the true astronomical positions of the planets.
  • We use true nodes, not mean nodes, so Rahu and Ketu reflect their real positions rather than a smoothed average.
  • We account for daylight saving and historical time zone changes. For births before 1970, there's a small chance our database is off by an hour. If you suspect this, email hello@galacticplanner.com and we'll investigate.

Why does the app need such a precise birth location?

Your exact location sets the orientation of the sky at your moment of birth. It affects your rising sign, house placements, and the timing of some predictions. The more accurate your location, the more precise your chart.

Using the app (10)

What do "START", "EXACT", and "END" mean on a transit?

These labels describe where a planetary transit is in its cycle.

  • Start: the planet is moving into position and its influence is beginning to build.
  • Exact: the planet reaches its strongest and most precise alignment. This is often when its effects are felt most intensely.
  • End: the planet is moving away from its exact position, and its influence gradually fades.

Think of it like a storm approaching, reaching its peak, and then slowly passing.

What do "FREQUENT", "INFREQUENT", "RARE", and "EXTREMELY RARE" mean?

These labels tell you how often a planetary event occurs.

  • Frequent: happens regularly and often.
  • Infrequent: doesn't happen very often.
  • Rare: happens only occasionally.
  • Extremely rare: may happen only once in many years, even decades.

Generally, slower-moving planets create rarer transits with deeper, longer-lasting effects, while faster-moving planets create more frequent, shorter-lived influences.

Why are some transit descriptions repeated?

Sometimes the same planets interact in similar ways multiple times during their cycles. For example, a fast-moving planet like the Moon may repeatedly form similar alignments with another planet over a short period. Because the same planetary energies are involved, the interpretation may be very similar or identical. These repeats reflect recurring astrological patterns rather than duplicated content.

Will I get reminders before important transits?

Not yet. Push notification reminders aren't available yet, but they're on the roadmap.

Can I sync the app with my Google or Apple Calendar?

Yes. You'll receive a calendar invite you can add to your Google or Apple Calendar.

Does the app work offline?

No. The app needs an internet connection to load your calendar, transits, and descriptions.

Are mahā daśās and antara daśās included?

Yes. Mahā daśās (MD) and antara daśās (AD) are included.

How far ahead can I see, and can I look back?

Your calendar covers the full length of your active subscription, and you can look back at past transits and trends too.

Does it cover specific life areas?

Yes. Your transits and insights span career, money, love, health, and more.

How do I update the app, and how often do you ship features?

Update anytime from the App Store or Google Play. We ship new features roughly every month.

Ask Joni, the AI (5)

How does the AI actually work? Is it using my chart, or just generic horoscopes?

Yes. Ask Joni is trained on Joni Patry's books and lectures, so its interpretations stay grounded in her work.

Can I trust the AI's interpretations?

Yes. Ask Joni works from your verified chart calculations and Joni's teachings, which keeps it grounded and consistent. Astrology is an interpretive practice, so treat the readings as guidance rather than absolute fact.

Will I get the same reading as everyone else?

No. Every reading is built for your unique chart and the transits affecting it right now.

Can I ask follow-up questions about a transit or my chart?

Yes. Ask away. Ask Joni can go as deep as you want on any transit or chart detail. Your monthly question allowance depends on your plan.

Compatibility (5)

How does compatibility work? Do I need the other person's birth info?

Yes. You'll need their birth date, time, and location. Add them to your Contacts in the app, then ask Ask Joni about your compatibility with that contact.

How many contacts can I check compatibility with? 

On AI Enhanced, up to 3 contacts, change every 60 days. On Personalized, 1 contact, change every 60 days.

Does the other person need their own account or subscription?

No. You only need your subscription.

Can I check compatibility for friendship or business, not just romance? 

Yes. Compatibility works for friendships and business relationships too.

Can I add charts for family members?

Compatibility lets you add another person's birth details, but personalized transit predictions are generated only for your own chart.

Daily signals (2)

What is the green / yellow / red signal, and how is it calculated? 

It's your sign for the day, a quick read on what to expect and what to lean into: when to move, focus, or rest. It's calculated from the day's transits to your personal chart.

Should I make real decisions based on it? 

The app is here to guide you, not decide for you. Use it as one helpful input. Don't rely on it alone for major calls like travel or signing contracts.

Astrology basics (4)

What is a Vedic birth chart? 

A Vedic birth chart, or janma kundali, is a map of where the planets were at the exact moment and place you were born, calculated using the sidereal zodiac of Vedic astrology (jyotish). It divides the sky into 12 houses, each governing an area of life, and it's the foundation for all your personalized transits and predictions in the Galactic Planner.

How is jyotish different from Western astrology?

Jyotish uses the sidereal zodiac, which reflects the true astronomical positions of the planets. Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, tied to the seasons. The two differ by about 24 degrees, so your placements can shift between systems. Jyotish also leans heavily on the Moon, the lunar nodes (Rahu and Ketu), and planetary periods (daśās) for predictive timing, while Western astrology leans more psychological.

How are my chart details calculated? 

We use Vedic astrology with the sidereal zodiac, the Lahiri ayanamsa, and the whole sign house system. Your birth date, time, and location set the exact planetary positions for your chart and predictions.

 

What information do I need to enter? 

Just three things: your birth date, your precise birth time, and your birth location. With these, the app builds your chart and transit calendar instantly.

Privacy and data (2)

Is my data private? 

Yes. Your data is private and visible only to you. Your Ask Joni conversations are private too.

What happens to my data if I cancel? 

Your data stays intact, so you can keep using the free version and resubscribe later. If you'd like it deleted, email hello@galacticplanner.com.

Support and troubleshooting (5)

I signed up but I'm not seeing my personalized transits. What's wrong?

Most likely your birth info isn't entered yet. Open the app, go to Settings → Birth Info, and check that your date, precise time, and precise location are filled in. Your calendar populates within a few minutes once saved. If everything's entered and you still don't see transits, email hello@galacticplanner.com with your birth info and we'll get you set up.

How do I log in on a new device? 

Open the app and sign in with the same email you used to sign up. Your subscription, birth info, and transits all sync automatically.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it? 

The Galactic Planner doesn't use passwords. You sign in with the email you signed up with. If you're having trouble, email hello@galacticplanner.com.

My transits aren't loading or the app is crashing. What do I do? 

Email hello@galacticplanner.com and we'll sort it out.

How do I contact support? 

Email hello@galacticplanner.com anytime. We usually respond within one business day. You can also reach us through the in-app help screen at Settings → Help & Support.
